This very Narrow Road through the centre of the old town Polignano is quite stunning with flowers overflowing the balconies, ancient doorways and the residents washing hanging high in the warm sunshine. Note the shine on the limestone flagstones worn to a gloss by thousands of feet, they can get quite slippery when wet so sensible shoes might be the order of the day, unlike the young Italian women you see strolling in their very high stilettos.
